January is not the best month for boat trips as seas can be rough. Ferries cancelled in Indonesia today for example. Check any boat for safety equipment. Lots of places advertising trips in main street of LBJ. Ferry to Sape in Sumbawa is a car ferry about 75 mt long and 12m wide. You only have 3 days. I would suggest you just head to one place - Kencana Beach Hotel, 12km east of Sumbawa Besar town. You will arrive in Sape mid-afternoon. You might be able to get a direct bus to Sumbawa Besar but the trip is 6-7 hours so you will arrive around midnight having travelled all day from LBJ. Not ideal. Best bet is to take a bus from Sape to Bima, overnight in Bima and then an early bus to Sumbawa Besar. Kencana Beach Hotel is right on the beach, has a pool and lovely garden The food is good too. Staff are excellent IDR400K per night. You can stay in SB town too of course and it's a pleasant town but apart from the Sultan's palace and the ambience there is not a lot more to it. Sape is a city in is a city in Sumbawa in Nusa Tenggara, eastern Indonesia. Understand[edit] Sape is a small harbour village with friendly people. There is not much to see and there are not much tourists. Most tourists pass by to catch the ferry to Labuanbajo on Flores. The town centre if about five km from the port. There is nothing remarkable about the town. The streets are clean and the people are friendly. They don't see many outsiders here. If you want accommodation there are a couple of options close to the port. The DeAussaf Hotel is a great option if you are travelling by motorbike. At night you can park your bike inside the hotel. Get in[edit] From Bima you can take a local bus rp, first one 5 am, last one 5 pm directly to Labuhan Sape, the ferry port. After reaching Labuan Bajo the boat continues to Makassar/South Sulawesi and returns from there back to Labuan Bajo and Bali. The Tilongkabila is a large passenger boat with a capacity of 916 people. Different categories of accommodation are sold on each of the routes. The PELNI passenger ships have a limited number of international standard cabins.
